“Carthusian Brothers/Sisters” Retreat – Prayer and Service
Each Carthusian community is composed of members who live and work in their hermitage and others who have a significant share of work outside their cell to ensure the smooth running of the house.
This retreat is inspired by the life of Carthusian brothers and sisters. It is designed for those drawn to the Carthusian experience but who feel too active for a fully contemplative retreat. It combines personal and communal prayer times (Lauds, Vespers…) with extended periods of service in a spirit of recollection (in such a large house, there is always work to be done!).
Like the other retreats, it is lived in silence. Meals are taken in solitude in a brother’s cell, where you will also be accommodated.
The retreat lasts a minimum of three days. Your dates will be arranged based on your availability and that of the house.
